Project 2: Creative Brief – Final

25 02 2008

Overview

The aim of this project is to create an approximately 3 minute video about Toronto’s  public transit system and the challenges it faces as Toronto grows in light of its transformation into the megacity known as the GTA. The video will contain vector-based graphics. The flow of the video is controlled be the screen following the path of an imitated subway line inspired by the TTC subway maps. The screen will stop at each point and vector graphics will appear and animate according to the information delivered by the naration at each point.

Goals & Objectives

The goal of this video is to pose the question to the viewer of whether Toronto’s TTC should be owned by the Ontario government and be uploaded to the provincial authority, Megalinx, in order to deliver more efficient and complete service to all of the GTA. The video is meant to encourage support of the provinces involvement as it would improve our daily lives, giving us greater access to the city without additional fares or transfers.

Audience

The target audience of this video are all Toronto and suburban public transit users, particularly ones who use public transit to travel long distance across the city.

Key Message

The TTC should be uploaded to the provincial authority, Megalinx, in order to provide the public a more efficient form of transit across the city and into the suburban areas without additional fares and transfers. This is crucial as the GTA is still growing and the TTC is struggling to keep up without government assistance.

Content Planning

The content will consist of vector based images. Among these are the subway line path and vector images of transit and people to illustrate the naration’s content.
